The CT CE Tubing End Locator is a normally retracted hydraulically actuated tool used to locate the tubing end for depth correlation purposes.
The CT CE Tubing End Locator is run below the tubing end. By increasing the CT flow/pressure to the tool, a piston will move the normally retracted arms into the expanded position.
Whilst maintaining the CT flow/pressure, a slow upward movement of the CT will bring the expanded arms into contact with the tubing entry point, and an over pull will be seen. When the maximum over pull condition is achieved, the arms will retract and the tubing end locator will pull through.
