COILED TUBING

ULTRA-DUTY-TWIN-FLAPPER-CHECK-VALVE

The Ultra-Duty Cartridge Type Twin Flapper Check Valve acts as a dual barrier within the tool string avoiding any well fluid backflow through the coiled tubing. The flapper cartridges that fit into the housing allows and efficient pressure sealing due to the combined elastomeric and metal interaction, providing efficient low and high pressure sealing and requiring a simpler redress. The CE TFCV Cartridges are designed as a single-piece body to reduce the number of potential leak paths and provide reliable pressure testing capabilities. The elastomeric seal is far removed from the flow path to maximise seal life. The CE Ultra Duty Twin Flapper Check Valves are rated up to 15,000 PSI and feature backup rings on internal O-ring seals to increase the high-pressure protection. FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • 15,000 PSI rated
  • Backup rings on O-ring seals
  • Single piece cartridge body to reduce leak paths and increase pressure testing reliability
  • Dual elastomer and metal-to-metal seals

SLIP-DIMPLE-CONNECTOR

The CE slip Dimple Connector combines the strength of the Slip and the Dimple connectors to form a very strong connector assembly capable of transmitting high tensile loads and torque capabilities during operations. A pattern of set screws in the body of the connector is locked into pre-formed dimples made on the outside of the coiled tubing using a DTI dimple tool. In addition, a tapered slip with internal teeth bites onto the tubing and pulls up into a tapered bowl.

RUPTURE-PLUG-CIRCULATION-VALVE

The CE CV Rupture Plug allows the circulation of fluid through the CT tool under normal operating conditions. By increasing the CT pressure to a predetermined value, the rupture plug will blow out, allowing to open a flow path from the tool string to the well. This capability is useful when a CT circulation flow path needs to be opened to the well below a tool requiring a drop ball whilst leaving the full tool string I.D. clear for other required operations.

ROLL-ON-CONNECTOR

The CE Roll On Connector forms a sealed joint between the inside of the coiled tubing and the CT tool string or another line of required coiled tubing. The joint O.D. is the same as the coiled tubing. The tubing end must first be prepared by removing the inner bead using a CE Bead Removal Tool* and fully polished to make an optimum seal. The Roll-On Connector can then be inserted and the tubing roll formed over internal radii on the connector body using a DTI Roll-On Form Tool*. Although it is not the strongest or full bore, this is a useful, cost-effective, disposable connector that is quick and simple to attach. It is often used for wash tool string applications. * Refer to CE Coiled Tubing Connector Preparation Tools below CE CT PREPARATION TOOLS – The Bead Removal Tool is a precision tool used to remove the weld bead from inside the coiled tubing so that the Roll-On CT Connector can be installed. – The Tubing Honer is a universal tool used to polish out the inside of the coiled tubing to ensure an optimum seal when installing the Roll-On CT Connector. – The Roll-On Form Tool is a universal tool used to roll the radius grooves onto the coiled tubing when installing a Roll-On CT Connector.

PUMP-OUT-CHOKE-PROBE

The CE CT Pump Out Choke Probe is run below the Hydraulic Knuckle Joint in the Multi-Lateral Entry System. The Pump Out Choke Probe is generally sized so that the Hydraulic Knuckle Joint is prevented from fully articulating inside the main wellbore casing. Once the lateral wellbore is located, the Pump Out Choke Probe moves into the casing window allowing the Hydraulic Knuckle Joint to fully articulate. This position opens the bleed ports and provides a pressure signal meaning that the lateral wellbore has been located. A pinned piston sub acts as a choke to enable the activation of the hydraulic tool string. Once the lateral wellbore has been successfully accessed, the choke sub can be over-pressured and pumped out into the probe body which also acts as a catcher sub. Higher flow rates can then be pumped through the tool-string for any cleaning and stimulation applications. FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • Available in all OD’s and lengths to suit main bore casing size options
  • It features an adjustable pump-out pressure
  • It features an adjustable choke size
  • Available in all standard materials and thread connections

CT-BOW-SPRING-CENTRALISER

The CE CT Centraliser Bow Spring provides centralization to the CT tool string, whilst retaining the capability to pass through any smaller tubing restrictions. The bow springs can either be incorporated as a conventional tool or slipped over the tool string on carriers and be locked in place with set screws. The bow springs are replaceable and easily changed out without the need to remove any tool from the tool string.

CT CEMENT VALVE

The CE Cement Valve is able to support a column of fluid within the CT until an increase in pressure is applied to the column of fluid. When the pressure inside the CT exceeds the well hydrostatic pressure by a pre-determined amount, the Cement Valve will open The CE Cement Valve has 4 alternative seal positions which are used to pre-set the opening pressure to the desired value. The spring stack configuration can also be changed to increase or decrease the opening pressure requirements. The operation is fully repeatable with the valve opened by increasing the internal pressure and it is closed by decreasing the internal pressure. The CE Cement Valve can be used in different CT operations where it is desired to place a specific quantity of fluid at a required specific location in the well.

CT DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM

The CE Deployment System is used to safely deploy long Coiled Tubing Tool-strings in a live well when the tool-string length exceeds the lubricator length. The system consists of the CE Self Aligning Connector, a CE Dual Ball (Kelly) Valve and a CE Deployment bar. The CE Self Aligning Connector enables the tool-string to be disconnected while the lower section of the tool-string is held in the BOP pipe rams and therefore, cannot rotate. The CE Dual Ball (Kelly) Valve can be opened and closed from the surface by just simply using a Hex Key Wrench. Closing the valve creates a high integrity pressure barrier which allows the tool-string to be safely disconnected at the Self Aligning Connector level, which is run above the Dual Ball Valve. The central section of the CE Deployment Bar has the same outside diameter as the Coiled Tubing allowing the BOP pipe rams to seal around the deployment system while making and breaking the Self Aligning Connector.

CT-DTIGS-HYDRAULIC-PULLING-TOOLS

The CT CEGS Pulling Tool is a hydraulic-release action tool used for running or retrieving downhole tools which feature standard-size internal fishing necks. The CT CEGS Pulling Tool has a collet dog arranged over a central core, providing 360-degree shoulder engagement to the fishing neck, so maximizing the holding load capability. The release mode of the tool is achieved by increasing the CT flow/pressure to operate a piston which disengages the core from the collet dog. The CT CEGS Pulling Tool is available in sizes covering most standard internal fishing neck diameter requirements.

CT-DTIHD-HYDRAULIC-PULLING-TOOL

The CT CEHD Hydraulic Pulling Tool is a hydraulic-release action tool used for running or retrieving downhole tools with any standard size external fishing necks. The CT CEHD Hydraulic Pulling Tool has a collet dog-ring arranged inside a cylinder body, providing 360-degree shoulder engagement to the fishing neck, so maximizing the holding load. The release mode is achieved by increasing CT flow/pressure to operate a piston which positively disengages the collet dog ring from the fishing neck. The CT CEHD Hydraulic Pulling Tool is available in sizes covering most standard external fishing neck diameter requirements. A bell-guide skirt option is also available.

CT-DTIRX-RUNNING-TOOLS

The CT CERX is a hydraulically activated tool used to run and set CEX & CER locking mandrels into their matching landing nipples. The CT CERX Running Tool uses the field-proven dog latch system which is easily released from the internal fishing neck of the Locking Mandrel, when set. Increasing the CT flow/pressure to the tool will hydraulically move the Locking Mandrel keys into the locating position. The flow rate is then reduced to a circulating condition. Once the Locking Mandrel is located, increasing the CT flow/pressure will shear out a shear ring, while simultaneously setting the Locking Mandrel into the nipple profile, and releasing the dogs of the running tool. Any upward jarring action will then shear a pin holding the Locking Mandrel to the core, thus releasing the CT CERX tool and confirming the Lock-set position.

CT-DUAL-ACTION-HYDRAULIC-JAR

The CE Dual Action Hydraulic Jar enables repeatable upward or downward jarring blows to the work string. A field-proven closed and pressure balanced hydraulic piston meters oil so that a timed pull or push delivers a controlled jarring blow action. The amount of tension or compression placed on the coiled tubing is proportional to the blow delivered. The DTI Dual-Action Hydraulic Jar is simple to operate and to redress. No calibration is required.

CT-DUAL-ACTION-SPRING-JAR

The CE Dual Action CT Spring Jar enables repeatable upward or downward jarring blows to the work string. The amount of tension or compression placed on the coiled tubing in order to fire the jar is dependent on the amount of preload force placed into the jar springs, which is adjustable at the surface. The release loads are relatively light, typically from 1500 LBS to 5000 LBS, depending on the Jar O.D. size. As there is no hydraulic fluid chamber inside the Jar, it is susceptible for high temperature. It has an increased impact ratio and requires very little force to re-cock. The CE Dual Action CT Spring Jar is simple to operate and redress. A calibration tool is available in order to perform a surface test for the Jar release load. FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • High impact ratio
  • Very low re-cocking force
  • Easy field redressable
  • Suitable for very high temperature wells

CT-EXPANDING-BOW-SPRING-CENTRALISER

The CE CT Centraliser Expanding Bow Spring is a hydraulically actuated tool with normally retracted bow springs. When the CT fluid flow/pressure at the tool is increased, the bow springs will expand up to the tubing I.D. and thus centralizing the tool string. This feature provides an efficient method of centralization and greatly reduces the wear and tear condition on the springs. The bow springs are easily replaceable and changed out without the need to completely disassemble the tool.

CT-EXTERNAL-SLIP-CONNECTOR

The CE CT External Slip Connector creates a full bore sealed joint between the outside of the coiled tubing and the CT tool string. The joint O.D. matches that of the tool string. The tapered slips with internal teeth bite onto the tubing and pull up into a tapered bowl, in a similar manner to an overshot; the harder the CT pull the harder the bite is, turning it into a very strong connector. The Dimple On/Extractor Tool is a precision tool used to make the dimple pattern to suit the Dimple CT Connector.

CT-FLUTED-CENTRALISER

The CE CT Centraliser Fluted is a full bore component that ensures that the CT tool string is fully centralized within the well-tubing system. The O.D. of the tool is usually specially sized to tubing drift or to pass through any nipple restrictions. Large fluted flow paths are incorporated into the O.D. to maximise fluid bypass and shoulders are fully bevelled to prevent the tool string get to hang up.

CT-HAMMERHEAD-BI-DIRECTIONAL-IMPACT-HAMMER

The Hammerhead Bi-Directional Impact Hammer delivers a controllable high frequency up or down impact to any downhole device. The frequency and magnitude of the impacts delivered are controlled via the flow rate and applied pressure force. A short length and the ability to configure the Impact Hammer as up only, down only or bi-directional make the Hammerhead suitable for many diverse applications including shifting sleeves, breaking disks, pulling plugs, scale removal, cleanouts, tubing swaging and broaching operations. The ability to deliver high frequency impacts with low applied force and without the necessity to cycle the Coiled Tubing makes the Hammerhead an attractive alternative to the conventional option of using a Jar. A Hammerhead Stroker Tool can also be used to optimise the performance of the Hammerhead when there is the little effective length of Coiled Tubing above the Hammer position. The CE Hammerhead Bi-Directional Impact Hammer is manufactured from high-grade materials and has an operating mechanism that does not rely on the elastomer performance, making the tool suitable for corrosive and high-temperature environments. FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Compact length • High frequency controllable up and down impacts • Can be configured as Up Hammer, Down Hammer or Bi-Directional Hammer modes • Reduces Coiled Tubing fatigue condition compared with jarring • Mechanism does not rely on elastomeric seals making it suitable for use in corrosive environments and high-temperature wells

CT-KICKOVER-TOOL

The CE Coiled Tubing Hydraulically Activated Kickover Tool enables reliable running and retrieval of the gas lift valves using Coiled Tubing. The tool is “kicked over” by applying hydraulic pressure to the tool-string and is de-activated by bleeding off the pressure from the tool-string. Running the Kickover Tool in conjunction with a DTI Flow Control Valve allows the operator to alternate easily between the normal circulation and activating the Kickover Tool. FEATURES AND BENEFITS
  • Hydraulic pressure holds the tool rigidly in the kicked-over position to access awkward side pocket mandrels.
  • Integral swivel to minimise the number of tool string components require
  • Fluid flow through the tool washes the side pocket mandrel and gas lift valve fish necks

CT-KNUCKLE-JOINT-NON-ROTATING

The CE CT Knuckle Joint (non-rotating) is a fully sealed joint that provides the CT tool string with an inclusive 15 degrees of flexible deviation. The I.D. at the knuckle is bevelled in order to maximise the bore when the joint is at its full deviation. The knuckle is also able to transmit torque. FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Large ID to permit high flow rates and allow drop balls to pass through the tool • Fully sealed through bore • High tensile and compression load rating capability

CT-KNUCKLE-JOINT-ROTATING

The CE CT Knuckle Joint rotating tool is a fully sealed joint that provides the CT tool string with an inclusive 15 degrees of flexible deviation. FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Large ID to permit high flow rates and allow drop balls to pass through the tool • Fully sealed through bore • High tensile and compression rating capability

CT-MILLING-CIRCULATION-VALVE

The CE Milling Circulation Valve provides a constant fluid flow path to the motor or any BHA during milling operations, whilst also providing a means of high volume circulation capability to the annulus whenever required. It is designed to be run above a motor. The CE Milling Circulation Valve enables unlimited switching between milling operations and high flow rate clean-out operations. This option increases the flow rate availability to effectively remove debris from the well and prevents any motor damage during the hole cleanout. The CE Milling Circulation Valve is activated by picking up on the bottom and briefly over- pressuring the tool-string to release a hydraulic lock. Closing the Milling Circulation Valve is achieved simply by reducing the flow rate to normal milling rates and sitting back down. FEATURES AND BENEFITS – Mechanism is locked during milling to ensure constant fluid flow to the motor – Adjustable hydraulic lock opens the valve at desired overpressure condition – The large flow area allows very high circulation rates for effective hole cleanout operations – The valve closes easily by setting down weight – Robust dynamic seals and high performance treatments prolong the life of the valve

CT-MULTI-PORT-WASH-TOOL-OPEN

The CE Multi Port Wash Tool has a wide fan of multi-directional choked jetting ports giving maximised jetting coverage options. The chokes can be changed out to adjust to the required jetting velocity.

 CT-MULTI-PORT-WASH-TOOL-PUMP-OPEN-TYPE

The CE Multi Port Wash Tool pump open enables circulation to be directed through the wash tool. When a multi-port washing is required, a drop ball will shear out a pre-pinned blanking sleeve, exposing a wide fan of multi-directional choked jetting ports giving maximised jetting coverage. The chokes can be changed out to adjust to the required jetting velocity.

CT-RELEASABLE-SPEAR

The CE CT Releasable Spear is a hydraulic release action tool used for fishing downhole tools, with internal necks or cylindrical parts of broken tools without a fish neck that have been lost in the well. The CE CT Releasable Spear has hardened grapple slips arranged over a tapered mandrel. Once the grapple slips are engaged in the fish, upward jarring will make the teeth bite and hold fast. The tool release is achieved by increasing the CT flow/pressure to operate a piston which disengages the tapered mandrel from the grapple slips. The CE Releasable Spear is available in sizes covering a wide range of fishing diameter requirements.

CT-RELEASEABLE-OVERSHOT

The CE CT Releasable Overshot is a hydraulic release action tool used for fishing downhole tools or parts of broken tools without a fish neck that have been lost in the well tubing. The CE CT Releasable Overshot has hardened grapple slips arranged inside a tapered bowl. Once the grapple slips are engaged on the fish, any upward jarring will make the teeth bite and hold fast. The tool release is achieved by increasing the CT flow/pressure to operate a piston which disengages the tapered bowl from the grapple slips. The CE Releasable Overshot is available in sizes covering a wide range of fishing diameter requirements. Bell guide skirt options are also available.

CT-ROTARY-WASH-TOOL

The CE Rotary Wash Tool is operated by a CT fluid flow, which rotates a multi-choked ported barrel in a continuous motion, directing a number of fluid jets to the wall of the tubing in a wide arc giving an excellent spray coverage.

CT-SELF-ALIGNING-CONNECTORS

The CE Self Aligning Connector is a tool that enables the connection and disconnection of the CT tool string at the surface where the rotation of the tool string is limited and does not allow conventional threaded disconnection. The tool is useful when making up CT deployment strings. The tapered nose of the upper connector provides efficient alignment with the lower portion. Once fully located, the outer threaded collars make up the connection, providing a fully sealed joint option that has high tensile and torsional strength conditions.

CT-SHEAR-RELEASE-JOINT

The CE Shear Release Joint is a torque-through sealed joint that is designed to break at a predetermined tensile load by the shearing of pre-calibrated shear pins. The lower part of the DTI Shear Release Joint has an internal fishing neck which can be latched with a standard DTIGS Pulling Tool.

CT-SWIVEL-JOINT

The CE CT Swivel Joint is a fully sealed joint that provides the CT tool string with 360 degrees of rotation capability. The swivel enables the rotation of the CT tool string at the surface to allow conventional tool threaded make-ups and break-outs. It is also used in CT operations where the rotation of the lower tool string is necessary, such as when running gas lift valves. .

CT-TUBING-END-LOCATORS

The CT CE Tubing End Locator is a normally retracted hydraulically actuated tool used to locate the tubing end for depth correlation purposes. The CT CE Tubing End Locator is run below the tubing end. By increasing the CT flow/pressure to the tool, a piston will move the normally retracted arms into the expanded position. Whilst maintaining the CT flow/pressure, a slow upward movement of the CT will bring the expanded arms into contact with the tubing entry point, and an over pull will be seen. When the maximum over pull condition is achieved, the arms will retract and the tubing end locator will pull through.

CT-TWIN-FLAPPER-CARTRIDGE-TYPE

The CE TFCV cartridge type acts as a dual barrier within the tool string against well fluid back flow through the coiled tubing. The tool is mounted within cartridges that fit into the main valve body to provide an effective CT barrier. The flappers have combined elastomeric/metal seating providing efficient low and high pressure sealing options, combined with simple redress.

 CT-TWIN-FLAPPER-CHECK-VALVE-WITH-LOCKOUT-SLEEVE

The CE TFCV lockout sleeve allows the check valves to be run in the open position, thereby enabling the reverse circulation of the fluid from the well through the CT. When required, a drop ball can be used to shear out the lockout sleeve into an integral catcher sub located below the tool. The TFCV will then be activated as a conventional dual barrier within the tool string against well fluid back flow through the coiled tubing.

CT TWIN FLAPPER INTEGRAL TYPE

The CE TFCV integral type tool acts as a dual barrier within the tool string against well fluid back flow in the coiled tubing. The flappers are mounted integrally into the body of the tool to maximise the flow area whilst providing a simple, efficient and cost effective method of forming a CT barrier. The flappers have metal seating with no elastomers present and are capable of sealing at very high pressures and temperatures conditions.
